It's beginning to look a lot like winter, everywhere you goooo.....

Soooo, today was an adventure of it's own! Ciara and I ventured off to work, which meant a nice little hike to the main road in wintry cold weather. Here's Ciara half way up the road, and me huffing and puffing not too far behind.

The cool thing is we saw some deer prints in the snow... apparently they came to visit us between the time Rob left to work at 6:00 a.m. and us leaving at 11:00 a.m. I think there were two of them as there were prints on both sides of the road. They were down our road, up the road past our car and went back into the woods near our neighbors house. Wish I would have gotten glimpse of them. Oh well. who knows, maybe we startled them when they heard us leaving the house. Ciara wanted to catch a glimpse of them so bad!

So, we finally got out onto the main road, and that's when my heart sank! The road was completely covered in snow and ice. So, I turned on the four wheel drive, put the car in second, gave a little prayer to Jehovah, and off we went! It really wasn't that bad. (Thanks for the all terrain tires Rob! You are the bomb!) Here's what the road looked like and it was 12 degrees. So, of course, after getting all the way to Sylva, I'm so proud of myself for getting to work.... and of course i just KNOW that everyone will be like "wow, the Floridian made it in, we're impressed". But guess what?!? They weren't impressed. Know why? Because they didn't make it in, . . . couldn't get out because of bad weather! GRRRRR.... oh well, it was still a good day, since I had much to catch up on.

Anyhoo, the adventure back was fine, too. I guess once you drive once on it, it isn't so scary. We just take our time, and away we go! We had to stop for some groceries on the way home. Guess how we got them from the main road to the house? Yup, our handy sled!!! Are we country folk or what?

Still working on 1099's. Still haven't passed June of last year, but working hard hoping I'll finish in the next two weeks. Not going to have much of a life until then; however, I'm trying to do all I can to show how dependable I am since they've already let one person go from our office. I was assured today that I'm an important and valuable part of the team (yeah, me, go figure!).... so I guess I just have to keep going, one file at a time. If you don't hear from me in the next day or two, bring your shovel and come dig me out of all these files!!!

Ok, it's 9:58 and I promised Rob that I would start going to bed no later than 10:00 at night. This staying up to 1:00 a.m. is starting to kill me! Have a great night, and see you soon with more adventures in the lives of the DeNardo's! (P.S. - my mom and dad's 35 year anniversary is coming up in two weeks! What am I going to get them? I was thinking of moving Cindy's desk out of their house and buying them a small desk! Happy Anniversary to them and I finally get my favorite desk! --hmmmm, good plan!)

Love you and miss you all!

  2. wow that's some cold weather...you are a brave woman. if my road looked like that I'd take it as a sign from Jehovah that I was supposed to stay in my jammies and drink coffee all day!! LOL
